Abstract

Software testing challenges in multi-browser web applications are important because the same application must work consistently across different browsers, versions, devices, and rendering engines. In enterprise web systems, browser differences can cause layout distortion, script errors, broken forms, inconsistent validation, session issues, and performance variation. This article discusses how multi-browser testing helps verify functional behavior, user interface consistency, compatibility, responsiveness, security controls, and transaction accuracy across browser environments. It explains the role of browser compatibility matrices, test case prioritization, responsive layout checks, JavaScript validation, CSS rendering review, defect tracking, and regression testing in improving web application quality. The article also highlights common challenges such as frequent browser updates, device diversity, inconsistent DOM behavior, third-party plugin issues, and difficulty maintaining complete test coverage. A structured multi-browser testing approach is presented to reduce compatibility defects, improve user experience, and support stable deployment of enterprise web applications. The study concludes that effective multi-browser testing improves application reliability, reduces production issues, and strengthens software quality assurance.
