Software quality assessment through peer inspection reports is an important practice for identifying defects, design weaknesses, documentation gaps, and coding issues before software reaches later testing or production stages. In enterprise projects, peer inspections help teams review requirements, design documents, source code, test cases, and configuration artifacts in a structured and collaborative manner. This article discusses how peer inspection reports provide measurable evidence of review effectiveness, defect types, severity levels, correction status, reviewer observations, and process weaknesses. It explains the role of inspection checklists, defect classification, review comments, rework tracking, approval records, and inspection metrics in improving software quality control. The article also highlights common challenges such as inconsistent reviewer judgment, incomplete reporting, delayed corrections, weak follow-up, and lack of ownership for identified defects. A structured peer inspection reporting approach is presented to support early defect detection, improve accountability, reduce rework, and strengthen development discipline. The study concludes that systematic use of peer inspection reports improves software reliability, enhances documentation quality, and supports continuous quality improvement in enterprise software projects.
