Abstract

Software quality control is important in outsourced development projects because software work is often performed by external teams that may differ in technical standards, communication practices, process maturity, and domain understanding. Outsourced projects face risks such as unclear requirements, weak review control, delayed defect reporting, inconsistent coding practices, limited visibility into progress, and difficulty in verifying delivered modules. Traditional quality checks conducted only at the final delivery stage may fail to detect early design, coding, integration, and testing problems. This article focuses on software quality control in outsourced development projects by examining requirement validation, coding standards, review checkpoints, defect tracking, test coverage, milestone-based acceptance, and vendor performance monitoring. The study discusses how structured quality control can improve transparency, reduce rework, strengthen accountability, and ensure that outsourced deliverables meet functional and technical expectations. The article concludes that effective quality control is essential for reducing outsourcing risk, improving delivery reliability, protecting software quality, and supporting long-term collaboration between client and vendor teams.
